Warwick Oakman practices as an architectural historian and is a third-generation antiques dealer in Hobart. He has a Bachelor of Design (Hons.), Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design and a Bachelor of Arts.

Warwick has extensive professional experience in preparing conservation management plans for historic buildings throughout Australia and advises the Port Arthur Historic Site and NSW National Trust on the colonial period. He specialises in fine quality 18th and 19th century English and Australian furniture and decorative arts.
