A wooden carved Tibetan shrine featuring Sakyamuni Buddha in the centre, surrounded by elephants, mythical animals, lions, foliage. Garuda spreads his wings above the Buddha and two apsaras show supporting the shrine. Deep carving, thick traces of gilding. The bottom of the shrine is open, allowing offerings to be inserted. Height: 25 cm. Tibet mid 15th century.
