Pair Sevres & Ormolu Candleabra
Circa: 1860
Price: $12,000
A luxurious PAIR of Napoleon III, Second Empire Sevres and ormolu candelabra, c 1860. They are 63 cm tall, and all the bronze has been regilded, a frighteningly costly process with recent gold prices! The porcelain comes from 18th century Sevres moulds. The molds are from about 1760. A pair of C1760 vases of this form, but painted with Chinoiserie scenes, were formerly in the E.M. Hodgkins Collection, London. Our porcelain vignettes are classical, beautifully hand painted, a different scene for each. The porcelain, by the way, has a rectangular slot in each handle that was integral to the 18th century molding, designed to accommodate an ormolu candle branch. Price per Unit (PAIR): $12,000.00
