"Plymouth Market" oil on canvas by Nicholas Condy dated 1836. Nicholas Condy was born in 1799 in Torpoint Cornwall, dying in 1857. He served in the Peninsular War between 1811 & 1818. From 1818 he studied art and became a professional painter based in Plymouth. He exhibited between 1830 & 1845 at the Royal Academy, the British Institute and the Society of British Artists, Suffolk Street.
